AFA Award Nominations
| Don't miss your opportunity to recognize deserving colleagues for their outstanding contributions to their jobs, the Association, the profession, or the fraternal movement. Nominations for the 2007 Awards are due by July 27. All nominations must be e-mailed to awards@fraternityadvisors.org. The process is simple, but it depends on your participation. First 90 Days Program Are you starting your first professional position advising fraternities and sororities? If so, Be. R.E.A.D.Y. is for you! As a new professional in the field of fraternity and sorority advising you may find yourself asking questions such as: What is the best means for me to understand the fraternity/sorority culture at my new institution? How should I prioritize which relationships to build first? Who will be my biggest ally?
Be. R.E.A.D.Y. is a new program that will support you in this transition. The program will begin July 26th and will go through October, to span over the "first 90 days" of a new professional's career. Each participant will:
- Have the unique opportunity to participate in an eight-session virtual program and interactive online community;
- Develop a plan for success in the first 90 days of his/her new position;
- Develop skills and core competencies necessary for the advising profession; and
- Build a network of support with other professionals.

National Hazing Prevention Week September 24-28, 2007 As a committed partner in the fight against hazing, AFA is again a national sponsor of NHPW. It’s never too late to plan an awareness raising observance at your campus. Awareness raising resources are also available for purchase at the website, including: programming guides, posters, parent brochures, DVDs of the 2007 National Hazing Symposium, case studies, and buttons. NHPW offers a tremendous opportunity for fraternity and sorority leaders to come together with club leaders, student athletes, and faculty to end hazing on your campus.

AFA Foundation Annual Report The Association of Fraternity Advisors Foundation has published an Annual Report to recognize 2006 annual donors, silent auction donors, and recipients of cumulative giving recognition. It also provides information about the Amicus Sequentes Circle, a planned giving effort. The Annual Report highlights the grants provided by the Foundation so donors can see the impact of their contributions. The AFA Foundation has created great momentum and is eager to share the successes of the year with you.
