Lights, Camera, Action: Media Readiness for the Fraternity/Sorority Professional Tuesday, September 25, 2007 2:00–3:00pm Eastern Standard Time
A reality of fraternity and sorority life is that unfortunate crisis situations (an alcohol-related injury or death, hazing incident, etc.) can arise at any time and the media may suddenly appear at your office... or on the doorstep of your chapters. This seminar will prepare you for such situations, teach you skills in dealing with the media, and provide tools for you to train your students and volunteers on how to handle the situation.
AFA’s newest resource, a Media Readiness Guide, will be released in conjunction with this seminar. Registrants of the seminar will be able to pre-order the Guide at a discounted rate of $15 for members or $30 for non-members (the regular price will be $25 for members or $40 for non-members). >> Go here to learn more

AFA Joins U.S. Commission on Civil Rights' Campaign to End Campus Anti-Semitism AFA recently entered into a partnership with the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights in support of their public education campaign to end campus anti-Semitism. In April 2006, the Commission announced its finding that anti-Semitism is a serious problem today at many of the nation’s post-secondary educational institutions. At a public briefing in November 2005, a panel of experts testified that too many students are not knowledgeable about their rights and protections against anti-Semitic behavior. Campus Anti-Semitism, the Commission’s recent report may be found online.
AFA members will soon be mailed more information regarding the Campaign and what can be done to address anti-Semitism in the fraternity/sorority community. Visit the Commission’s Campaign website to learn more.
