The AFA Website... More than Meets the Eye! The AFA website is a comprehensive resource for the fraternity/sorority advising community. AFA's Technology Committee created a presentation to help users maximize their membership experience by effectively utilizing the many resources and services available online. Go here to view this presentation and learn how the AFA website can help you!
AFA Membership Campaign We have reached the mid-point of AFA's membership year, but it is not too late for you to benefit from referring new members. Through our Membership Incentive Program you can earn complimentary membership and Annual Meeting registration simply by encouraging others to join AFA. Rick Barnes, Sara Jahansouz, Sara Mayer, and Stuart Umberger have already won membership for the 2008-2009 academic year... will you be next?
AFA Outreach to Senior Student Affairs Officers Advocacy and Influence is one of the Association's five strategic goals. The most recent effort related to this goal is on its way to your Dean or Vice President right now! An Executive Summary regarding staffing and funding for fraternity/sorority life at various types of institutions has been compiled from the 2007 AFA/CSCF Fraternity/Sorority Advising Profession and Community Status Survey and sent to senior student affairs officers to assist in benchmarking related to these areas. Check with your Dean or Vice President to make sure he/she received the information, and set up an appointment to discuss how your fraternity/sorority office stacks up. If you discover that your senior student affairs officer did not receive the information, please send his/her contact information to the Central Office so a packet can be forwarded.
AFA/EBI Fraternity/Sorority Assessment Assessment provides a supportable foundation for strategic planning. Check out the new and improved AFA/EBI survey instrument. It could be just what you need to enhance your assessment initiatives.
College Panhellenics Conversations The February issue of College Panhellenics Conversations, the e-newsletter from the NPC College Panhellenics Committee, is now available.
NASPA Annual ConferenceAFA members attending the NASPA Annual Conference in Boston this March will find several educational programs and other events related to fraternity and sorority life. Go here for a summary of those programs. One of these events is the Fraternity/Sorority Knowledge Community's Interfraternal Luncheon, for which AFA is a co-sponsor. While this event is invitation-only for senior student affairs officers, there may be an opportunity for AFA members to purchase $50 luncheon tickets should any seats go unfilled. If you are interested in purchasing a luncheon ticket, please e-mail Linda Wardhammar, Executive Director, to be placed on the waiting list.
