Strategic Framework Review 2005-2010
Jay Anhorn, 2009 Past President
November 2009
In 2005, the leadership of the Association embarked on a new mission to enhance its members’ ability to create fraternity and sorority experiences that positively affect students, host institutions, and communities. Through the hard work and commitment from our volunteers and the honest feedback of our members and partners, we have moved toward a vision of a unified fraternal movement and increased the recognition of the value of the fraternity and sorority experience. Now, as we approach 2010, and reflect on our dreams for this five-year strategic framework, we can say with confidence that we truly delivered.
As professionals and volunteers invested in the fraternal movement, we know our students can have the ultimate college experience through affiliation with a fraternity or sorority. We know the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors is uniquely positioned to make this happen.
We advocate. We influence. Our partners in higher education and the interfraternal world believe in us.
We convene, facilitate, and partner with all stakeholders who are vested in our mission and vision.
We evolve. Both our infrastructure and financial plan are savvy, meet the needs of our ever-growing membership, and follow the trends in our field.
We are inclusive and build community. We care about and attend to the needs of all of our members and celebrate the differences among us. We are constantly looking ahead.
We research, learn, and inform our members about our field to make them the best at what we do.
At the 2009 Annual Meeting in Jacksonville, Florida, the Association will celebrate the accomplishments of the 2005-2010 Strategic Framework. A review of the accomplishments will be presented at the Business Meeting and through a visual display in the hotel meeting space. For those who are unable to attend the Annual Meeting, this information will be available online following the Business Meeting.
Much of what we dreamed has been delivered, thanks to efforts and investment of all of AFA’s members, volunteers, and partners. Much is yet to come!
