It’s More Than Just Property (Virtual Seminar Recording)
This Virtual Seminar will provide participants with the opportunity to learn more about facilities operations and programming opportunities from the perspective of an inter/national organization, a campus fraternity/sorority advisor with University-owned property and a campus fraternity/sorority advisor with privately-owned properties.

Mental Health Issues and Their Impact on Today's College Student (Virtual Seminar Recording)
With the consistently increasing number of students who enter college with diagnosed mental illnesses, student affairs and higher education professionals must be well equipped to be able to respond to these students’ unique needs and experiences. Presenters will provide background information about some common issues surrounding mental health in the lives of college students and provide education and tools to further learning and ability to anticipate and respond to these student’s needs.

National Methamphetamine Awareness Day

AFA was proud to partner with the U.S. Department of Justice in sponsoring National Methamphetamine Awareness Day on November 30, 2006. AFA members were encouraged to contact their campus/community partners and local and state government officials to discuss possible activities for inclusion.


Risk Management Cafe
The Risk Management Café was a regular column in Essentials. Members had the opportunity to submit questions and selected questions were shared with risk management experts for responses. Fraternity and Sorority Judicial Procedures (Virtual Seminar Recording)
During this session panelists discuss effective judicial practices for our sorority and fraternity communities.
 
FIPG's mission is to promote sound risk management policies and practices and tobe the leading resource of risk management education, programming and information for leaders within the fraternity/sorority movement. The 2007 edition of the FIPG Risk Management Manual is a 88-page resource covering all areas of risk management, including hazing, alcohol and other drugs, social events, housing, sexual abuse and harrassment and education.
 
HRH/Kirklin & Company's primary focus is serving the insurance and risk management needs of college based student organizations and alumni associations. Known by many for their timely educational resources related to property management, (i.e. Spring Break Guidelines, Winter Break Guidelines, Facility Inspection Form, etc.), HRH/Kirklin & Co. is a source for educational materials on topics ranging from alcohol/other drugs to fire prevention and from hazing to sexual assault. Go here to access these risk management resources.
