A Minute with the Board

Honoring Lifelong Commitment to the Fraternal Movement

April 29, 1994. I was a sight. Braces, glasses, teased hair and decked out in the only white I could find in Carbondale when I went shopping with 24 hours notice in January - a long, white, Hanes, mock-neck sweatshirt that I wore as a dress with white, nurse-looking shoes. Why I hadn't shopped for something more appropriate after Easter, I have no idea. I don't think I understood the magnitude of what was about to happen. >>Read more from Shelly Brown Dobek

Engaging Students Proactively through Social Media
October 28, 2009 | 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time

Facebook and Twitter are not the enemy! Students don't communicate the same way they always have and it is important for professionals to discover and understand the best ways to communicate with them. This seminar will incorporate web and telephone technology to educate participants on how interacting through social media can enhance the effectiveness of campus and organization staffs. An excellent skill building opportunity, this seminar will aid those who advise at either the campus or organization staff level. Participants will be able to discuss questions, concerns, and successes they have in their experiences with using social media.
