Status Reports Due October 31

Volunteer leaders' quarterly Status Reports are due October 31. Executive Board Members, Regional Directors, Committee Chairs, Liaisons, Editors, and Workgroup Chairs should submit Status Reports to their volunteer supervisor.

The Informed Volunteer - Personal Renewal

It is the beginning of the academic year for some of our volunteers, while many have been working for weeks with recruitment, orientation, new student week educational programs, traveling to various campuses, etc. With all of the professional, volunteer, and personal responsibilities that our volunteers maintain, AFA encourages its volunteers to think about the importance of personal renewal.

Volunteer of the Month - Viancca Williams

Viancca Williams, Student Programs Coordinator at the University of South Florida, serves the Association as a member of the First 90 Days Committee. Her nominator, Colleen Drazen, states "She was extremely interested in helping new professionals connect with more experienced professionals and worked to create a one-on-one 'coaching' experience for the participants of the First 90 Days Program. She recruited potential coaches, paired coaches with participants by considering past experience, current experience, and institutional characteristics, and has provided coaches with potential talking points. Her ability to develop and implement a programmatic concept, her nature to consistently volunteer for new opportunities, and her overall work ethic have made her a invaluable member of the First 90 Days Committee."
