Outstanding Volunteer Award

Submission Deadline|September 25

 

It's time to recognize our exceptional volunteers! So many AFA volunteers have contributed greatly to the Association this year and deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments. We need your help in identifying individuals who went above and beyond in their service to the Association.

 
Up to eight volunteers will be recognized for their outstanding performance during 2009 at the Annual Meeting Recognition Luncheon. Any current volunteer can nominate other volunteers who served the Association in 2009. Volunteers at all levels of service (other than the Executive Board) are eligible for recognition. Past Outstanding Volunteer Award recipients and volunteers who have been recognized as Volunteer of the Month are listed on the AFA website.

 

Please take a few minutes to nominate your supervisor, a member of your committee, or a peer whom you have seen do great work.  Email the names of exceptional volunteers to Sarah McCracken by Friday, September 25, 2009.  Please be sure to include their institution/organization, phone number, email address and why you believe they are deserving of this honor.

The 2010 Volunteer Involvement Form is available. Go to the Get Involved - Volunteer Opportunities section of the website to complete your 2010 Volunteer Involvement Form. Priority consideration is given to those individuals who complete the form by September 4. Be sure to read these tips before completing your form!

Interested in volunteering at the Annual Meeting? The 2009 Annual Meeting Ambassadors Form is now available. Go to the Get Involved - Volunteer Opportunities section of the website to sign up to volunteer at the 2009 Annual Meeting in Jacksonville, FL.

Volunteers of the Month - Johanne Jensen and Jenni Glick

 

Johanne Jensen, Director of Fraternity & Sorority Programs at the University of Arizona, and Jenni Glick, Fraternity & Sorority Life Assistant Director at Northwestern University, both serve in their second year on the Essentials Editorial Board. Their nominator Emily Perlow states, "In tandem, they worked together to identify topics, solicit authors, and edit the articles for the August Essentials edition, which explored several hot topics in fraternity and sorority advising. The edition took a creative spin on several often debated subjects. Their vision and dedication to producing a high quality edition make them deserving of recognition as the Volunteers of the Month."
