Is the Environment Still Chilly for Under-Represented Populations
in Fraternities & Sororities?
March 25, 2008
Today’s fraternity and sorority communities continue to explore how we can make our chapters and communities welcoming and supportive of all underrepresented populations, and more and more we are expanding this definition to include underrepresented students in addition to those who are racially and ethnically diverse: international students, students with physical disabilities, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students, commuter students, and nontraditionally aged students. This seminar will be an opportunity for professionals to obtain information and participate in a discussion about what we can do as fraternity and sorority advisors and professionals to create more welcoming environments for underrepresented populations of students within the fraternity and sorority community.
