Presenters
Dr. Ron Binder has been a Fraternity and Sorority professional since 1986 serving the University of Georgia, UNC Chapel Hill, Bowling Green State University and the University of South Carolina. Ron has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo, masters degree from Bowling Green State University and a doctorate from the University of Georgia. He has served as the Chair of the AFA Risk Management Committee and also served as AFA President in 2006. Ron also serves on the AFA Foundation and is the National Vice President for Gamma Sigma Alpha. He also serves as the District Governor for North and South Carolina for Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Ron has received the AFA Distinguished Service Award, AFA Diversity Award, AFA Outstanding Liaison Award and the Oder of Omega Advisor Fellowship. In addition he was named the Outstanding Greek Advisor by Theta Chi and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternities. He is a frequent presenter at conferences, has published several articles, written several chapters in books, and has appeared on NBC Nightly News, Court TV, NPR’s Talk of the Nation, and in Newsweek. Ron has also consulted and presented at over 100 campuses.
Rachel Marsh recently completed the job search process last May when she was hired as the Assistant Director of Greek Life at The College of Charleston. Prior to that, she completed her Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina in May 2009. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 2005 and spent two years working for Chi Omega Fraternity prior to pursuing her Master’s degree. Rachel has worked closely with the NASPA's Knowledge Community for Sorority/Fraternity Affairs and has presented for a number of Fraternity and Sorority conferences. She also serves as a volunteer for Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
